Abstract

Sport NZ commissioned The New Zealand Coaching Workforce Literature Review (September 2014) to support the implementation of the New Zealand Community Sport Coaching Plan. The review sought to identify and understand the profile of coaches at all levels of sport (both paid and unpaid) in a wide range of settings, from community to high-performance sport, as well as approaches to recruiting, developing and retaining coaches. It also considered the extent to which different countries have evaluated the success of their coaching participation strategies and initiatives.
